Our summer school ran for two weeks in August, split into two one week sessions, which consisted of five periods of learning activities each day. All of our new students, transitioning from primary school, were invited to attend one week and 78% took up the offer. Our aim was to provide transitional support to students where we had not been able to run our normal programme, due to Covid restrictions, throughout their final two years at primary school. They had not been able to experience life at secondary school, nor had they been able to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings. The programme was based on
transitional phase education, covering new topics and subjects, with student wellbeing and pastoral support at the forefront.
