Dear Year 6 students,
The staff and I at Ormiston Rivers are really looking forward to meeting you in September. We can’t wait to welcome you all and share with you all the things that we love about our school.
We know that you will be excited and perhaps a bit nervous about the change ahead, but don’t worry we have designed a ‘transition hub’ especially for you! You will find lots of information and challenges here which we hope will interest and inspire you.
You are starting a journey which we will take together with you over the next 5 or even 7 years.
We look forward to seeing you in person at the start of the new school year.
Ms Williams, Principal
Hello Year 6,
My name is Mrs Turnnidge, and I am going to be your Achievement Director for Year 7. I am really looking forward to welcoming you on your first day at Ormiston Rivers Academy, and I know that some of you may be feeling a little nervous. Please be reassured that we have lots of friendly staff and students to help you learn all about our school and what we expect.
Starting secondary school is an exciting time; you will get a new sense of independence and you will learn to become responsible for your own learning. You will also make lots of new friends and we have lots of different clubs for you to get involved in, so that you can become a positive member of our school community.
At Ormiston Rivers Academy, our values are Aspiration, Independence, Resilience and Respect. As your Achievement Director my aim is to help you become hard working, well-mannered students that are proud to be part of our academy and instill these values.
I am excited to be a part of your journey at Ormiston Rivers Academy, and I am confident that, as a team, we will be the best year group in the school! I am always here to support you, along with your mentors and the Student Support Team. Have a wonderful summer and I look forward to meeting you all on your first day.
Mrs Turnnidge, Achievement Director Year 7
