Despite the inclement weather that accompanied it, we were pleased to welcome the return of the second half of the Spring Term, along with the return of students and staff.
A group of Year 10 and Sixth Form Drama students enjoyed a trip to The Bridge Theatre on London’s South Bank to see Philip Pullman’s acclaimed “The Book of Dust”. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and I have included some photos below.
We are now officially at the half-way point of the academic year, and, like you, appreciate how swiftly time passes. Our Year 11 and Year 13 students have only a few short weeks remaining until their final GCSE and A Level exams. We know that this a stressful and difficult time for them; particularly in light of the circumstances of the past two years; but would like to assure you that we are always here to support them, and you, through this important and formative part of their lives.
This week, we have issued the Year 9 Options booklets, and continue to conduct one-to-one conversations with all Year 9 students, to ensure that they are fully informed and aware of their future pathways. Year 9 Parents’/Options Evening is scheduled for Tuesday 1st March, and I hope that you will find this helpful and informative. Further information regarding Year 9 option choices is available in the booklet, but please also contact our Assistant Principal, and academy lead, Mr Madajczyk on: [email protected], with any further queries.
We have been visited this week by our Chair of Governors, Lead Practitioners from Ormiston Academies Trust, our Local Authority School Effectiveness Partner, and external Education consultant, leading on Teaching and Learning throughout the academy. We always welcome the input of our educational partners, in ensuring that we are doing all we can for our students and providing the best education possible.
Similarly, we continue to welcome and encourage parental feedback, which is often helpful and constructive, and to which we will always respond. I am pleased to confirm that a parents’ introduction evening will be held on Thursday 24th March from 4.00 – 6.00 pm, to give you an opportunity to meet me and members of the Senior Leadership Team, to hear our ongoing plans and vision for the school, and to provide feedback. Further information will be sent in this respect next week. The initial introduction evening will be followed up by regular weekly Parent/Principal surgeries, on a first-come, first-served basis, which I hope you will find helpful.
Wishing you all a good weekend in the meantime.
