School Closure Due to Severe Heat - Friday 26 June 2026

Subject: School Closure Due to Severe Heat

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to inform you that the school will be fully closed tomorrow due to the forecast of severe heat. This decision has been made with the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff as our highest priority.

We appreciate that this may cause some disruption and we thank you for your understanding and continued support. During the closure, students will be expected to complete work that has been set by their teachers, which aligns with our planned curriculum.

We kindly ask that you support your child in engaging with and completing this work at home. The materials will be available online and by the close of business today we will share links to these resources with you so that you are able to support your child effectively.

For those students who do not have access to the Internet, we are providing hard copies of the work to ensure that all students are able to continue their learning.

Please be reassured that any work set will be reviewed by staff and followed up where necessary, to support students in staying on track with their learning.

We currently expect temperatures to return to more acceptable levels from next week. As such, our usual arrangements will resume, including full school uniform, with blazer and tie remaining optional in warmer conditions and normal delivery of the school day continuing. We will, of course, continue to monitor the situation closely and will inform you promptly should there be any changes.

Should any safeguarding concerns arise during the closure, please follow the same reporting procedures as you would during a school holiday period.

Finally, please note that this communication will replace the weekly newsletter due to the shortened week. We will ensure that key updates and events are shared in next week’s newsletter.

Thank you again for your understanding and support during this period. We encourage you to take appropriate precautions at home to keep your child safe, hydrated and cool during the high temperatures.

Yours sincerely,
 Dijana Piralic
 Principal (Interim)
